Program : Black Jaguar

b.1980, Seoul. Lives and works in Seoul

Black Jaguar has been working on a project to make visible the various identities that exist as minorities in Korean society. Through performance works that put her body on full display, she explores the possibility of solidarity by igniting everyday politics and identity needs through (non-)verbal performance.

Her major solo exhibitions include Uninvited(Space bisugi, 2022) and BBackstage(PLACEMAK2, 2021), and major group exhibitions include Techniques of Becoming(Totalmuseum, 2022) and Not To Allowed To Ban(Suwon Museum Of Art, 2018). She participated as an artist-teacher youth TA for the Seoul Foundation of Arts and Culture’s School Arts Education Project from 2017 to 2022. She has designed and facilitated numerous educational programs, including an online performance workshop for activists of the human rights organization ADI, which supports the psychological recovery of Rohingya women refugees at Korean Artists Welfare Foundation.
